Gratitude List + Year-End Thoughts (2025)

I normally post on Sundays or Mondays but I was behind with posts on my other blogs (Star Sparkle Blog and The Seasonal Life), so I'm writing my monthly Gratitude List today instead.

Also, I write an annual year-end post but I haven't managed to get that done yet, so I thought I would inclusde some year-end thoghs here and then write the more in depth post later. :)

Things I'm grateful for this month:

  • Getting new earrings
  • Christmas lights
  • Yule/the Winter Solstice
  • Beautiful sunsets
  • Christmas presents and cards
  • Cooking a proper turkey myself for the first time and it coming out ok!
  • Hot chocolate
  • Christmas chocolates!

Year-End Thoughts

I decided to add a quick section to this post, like I've done with a couple of Gratitude Lists in the past (most recently last month).

I normally write a post about letting go of the past year (you can see 2024's by clicking here), as well as a mid-year reflections post. Here is the Mid-2025 Reflections: https://fallingpetalsuk.blogspot.com/2025/06/mid-2025-reflections.html

As I mentioned in the mid-year post, it's been quite a difficult year for me, with personal issues and anxiety (particularly health anxiety). That was the first half of the year and the second half has also been hard. There have been some good parts but not a lot. They included meeting up with some family members for the first time in the summer and doing a Mental Health Toolkit course at my local mental health resource centre.

While summer is my favourite season, I also like autumn and the lead-up to Christmas. It always seems to go by quickly and now we're at the end of the year! I have leant that it's best not to put too much pressure on yourself and this time of year (at least it's best for me). I'll share some resources for releasing the year and planning ahead in the proper year-end post.

For now, I'd just like to say that I hope everyone had a good Christmas or any other festival you celebrated. And if you're struggling at this time of year, I understand. Hope you're doing ok. How has your 2025 been?

Happy New Year! Wishing everyone a great start to 2026 and a wonderful year ahead. :)
